Lovely Weddings: Finding a bridesmaid's shoe

I'm extremely honored to have been chosen to be maid of honor at my sister's wedding next month, and am super excited that her big day is coming soon! But that just means my days left to find a pair of shoes to wear to her wedding are numbered!

I have to find a silver sandal that goes with a tea length strapless dress with a decently high stiletto heel, and preferably platform. I started searching websites and found a few "nice" pairs, but as always, got a little side-tracked ... and bumped into some drool-worthy heels that I just have to share with you all:

First, a pair of hot Brian Atwood's in nude...

And a more girly beige pair of Miu Miu's...

They look kind of pink to me, but whatever the case, I'm in love! Didn't someone say nude is the new black or something? If so, I agree! I love the edginess of the studded Atwoods, and the glamour of the jeweled Miu Miu heel.

Almost back on track on my search for silver sandals, I saw these two Jimmy Choo's...

Anyone have any lower priced options for me?

Lovely Designers: Lanvin for H&M

{Photos via Fashionista}

These are my faves from the Lanvin for H&M collection to come out November 23rd.  I wonder how fast they'll sell out-- like within hours? Or days? Or is it more like minutes? I usually don't succumb to fashion events like trunk shows, store openings, or even huge sales, because I hate crowds, and let's be honest, I'm really no "fashionista." But this one I might actually plan ahead for. M & R, you with me? I'm dying for that zebra trench and necklace as logical, useful, wearable, and therefore justifiable purchases. But the dresses are absolutely irresistible—the styles are fun and classy, and the detailing definitely shows the designer quality of the pieces.

Obsessions: Isabel Marant

{photos via net-a-porter}

...if only i could afford a brand new, more sophisticated wardrobe:
Louboutins, comfy sweaters, leather jackets, blazers, skinny jeans, and silk blouses
would be at the top of my list.  Isabel Marant's designs never really stood out to me,
but seeing these outfits made me realize these are the kinds of clothes I could really wear.  I guess it makes sense since I'm always like, years behind the fashion curve.  Not to mention that I'm usually about two seasons behind in shopping, as I'm currently buying summer's oldies at an "additional 30% off lowest sale price," while the fashion folk are purchasing pre-ordered, straight-from-Vogue winter clothes.

Obsessions: Alexander Wang

{Acne Jacket, T by Alexander Wang skirt & top, Acne boots, Alexander Wang bag // via Caroline's mode}

This outfit is perfect for the psuedo-summer we're having, during which I am trying to embrace the idea of wearing lots of black. I disagree with whatever or whoever tried to ingrain in my head the idea that sundresses are the uniform for summer. While I love bright, colorful, flowery dresses, I hate to feel I can't or shouldn't wear something just because of what season it is. However, I am probably the only person with this mental block to overcome... But I am proud to say that I've finally broken my you-can't-wear-silver-with-gold-jewelry mental block. Yay for baby steps!

Also, I need me some T by Alexander Wang basics! I love that skirt!

Obsessions: Acne shirt

{Acne shirt, Balenciaga bag, Levi's shorts // via Carolines mode}

Is it just me or are we all still waiting for summer here in orange county? I'm still optimistic that we'll get our well-deserved heat in October--although I'm probably the only one who actually wants it. All the blogs are starting to post fall fashion saying they're ready for the knits, leather jackets, and boots... but I still need my summer!

p.s. I found a new blog obsession!

Lovely Finds: Balenciaga 10th Anniversary Special Edition: Lizard Embossed

{image via Purseblog}

Since S had such a horrible experience with her Chanel purchase this week and decided she wanted a gray Balenciaga instead, I was excited when I saw this on Purse Blog today.  I think it would be a good (and also cheaper) alternative to the Chanel she was originally looking at.  What I love about it is that it is embossed lizard, and made of lambskin, which is much softer (and MUCH cheaper) than actual lizard skin.
The bag is gorgeous!  You should get this, S!

Obsessions: Steve Madden Annton

I am strangely drawn to this Steve Madden Annton shoe ($129.95). I like that it's a peep-toe-wedge-oxford-bootie all in one because it hits many of the current shoe trends at the same time without looking absolutely ridiculous. I'm not sure how 'office appropriate' it is though, and that usually is the deciding factor in my shoe purchases. What are your thoughts on this shoe? Do you think it can be toned down with the right outfit to be more office appropriate?

Obsessions: Halston Fall 2010

(All images courtesy of Style.com)

The Fall 2010 Halston collection is the perfect blend of structure and bohemian style. I love how the slight touches of beading and studs hint at current trends yet is not overdone, and the peek-a-boo slits add sex appeal to seemingly conservative dresses. The rich color pallette also really adds to the collection.

I think I like her because she looks like a mix between Katie Holmes and Blair Waldorf (not Leighton Meester), and one more person that I can't think of.  It's funny how being obsessed with fashion makes you at least semi-obsessed with models too (or is it just me?).  And now because of her I'm obsessed with Doo.Ri Resort 2010!  I need those shooooooooessss!!!!

I love loving things I can't and won't ever have.  Is that weird?
